Well, that was one of the closest tourneys we've ever had.  We had some squeakers, some surprising upsets and some even more surprising blowouts.  And in the end, it came down to a clash between two classic comedy titans.   

So what actually happened?  Let's start with the final four: Caddyshack, Blazing Saddles, Airplane and Animal House.

4 movies that are all at least THIRTY years old. How is this possible? Or was this thing just rigged?  

Nope.  None of them had cakewalks - they all had to fight off challenges from the biggest, more recent blockbusters from Old School to Borat to Hangover to Ted to Anchorman.  And they did it handily.  Caddyshack had an average win % of 69% - defeating Slapshot, Talladega, Airplane and Blazing Saddles along the way.  Blazing Saddles came into the finals with a 74% win percentage - destroying The Jerk, Borat and even Anchorman and Animal House. 

What does this say about what the public thinks about today's comedy? Well, you could do worse than lose to Blazing Saddles or Caddyshack, or Animal House or Airplane for that matter.  All of them routinely top any list of the best comedys ever, and they're all virtual quote machines.  It's hard to ARGUE with any of those picks. So maybe it's got more to do with those 4 just being awesome, or maybe the kids just didn't get out the vote -- but it IS just a little surprising that they all survived. 

So was this predictable?  Well, yes and no.  Overall, only 7% of the world who filled out brackets before the tournament started picked both Caddyshack and Blazing Saddles to be in their championship.   And only 4% picked the entire final four! 

Based on how people filled out brackets before the Tournament started, Blazing Saddles and Anchorman dominated people's championship picks. Caddyshack was actually number 6!  But when it came down to head to head tournament voting, the world told a different story.  

In fact - Anchorman was steamrolling - DESTROYING Jump Street and Dodgeball with an average of 81% of the vote. But then met its match in Blazing Saddles, losing 58-42%.

But along the way, there were some real squeakers. And there were some real beatdowns (Closest matchup: Holy Grail vs. Vacation.  Vacation won 51-49%)
